The scratching of the Eighth Maker on Boxing Day left us with a total
of 15 winners from 39 selections for the calendar year 2011 (a strike rate of 38.47%) with regard to top-rated horses. Profit on turnover based on flat/level stakes investment was almost exactly 9%.
The Early Mail selections proved a successful innovation with 4 winners from 13 selections providing a 30.77% strike rate and a 9.24% profit on turnover.
